Would like to have more information on Dr Henry Miller and Frank Ballig

Melvina Comstock Miller Ballig
Abt. 1841 – 1883
Born Perry County to Bennett Comstock and Disey Connor

Suicide. Mrs. Melona Ballig, formerly Mrs. Dr. Miller, has put an end to her troubled existence in the County Poor House by hanging herself. The lady twice tried to take her life by drowning, but both time she was fished out of the cistern at the poor house, then she tried once to hang herself, but without success until the second attempt succeeded. The lady is the daughter the farmer B. Comstock (Bennett) and was married about 10 years with Dr. (Henry M.)Miller who died a few years ago and who left her in the most needy situation with 4 children. The lady made a living for herself and her four children by her handiwork and the support which flowed to her from the county. After being a widow for a long time she married Frank Ballig who formerly lived in the vicinity of town and left her sitting after a few months and who for some time is supposed to be staying near Jasper. Her pleading for support from him went unfulfilled, and so the unfortunate lady fell into depression and was finally accepted in the county poor house, where the fourth try she put an end to her miserable existence. The four children of the unfortunate lady are housed with mild-mannered families. (George, Ida, Fred & Henry)
